WhatsApp Free for Android App Review
Let’s find out the reason why millions of Android users are so hooked with WhatsApp!
There’s no doubt that out of all the free messaging apps for Android, WhatsApp remains to be regarded as one of the best apps for sending free text messages. As a matter of fact, it has successfully garnered more than two million positive reviews on Play Store.
Apparently, the main purpose of this app is to let its users send free text or SMS messages. So instead of sending costly text messages to your friends and relatives who are living overseas, you can just tell them to contact you thru WhatsApp.
“Simplicity Is the Key to Success”
I personally like the fact that this app is very easy to use and there are no annoying ads. Furthermore, the interface features a rather simple theme that is mainly based on gray and white. Thus, you won’t be able to see any flashy graphics or animated emoticons. Just don’t let the app’s lack of fanciness disappoint you. Instead, you should be glad that it has a very smooth and responsive user interface.
Sending Messages and Adding Contacts
Just like other messengers, WhatsApp won’t work unless you and your contact are both connected to the internet. You are also allowed to send unlimited messages and it pretty much works like any other IM tools and software. The only difference is that this app is intended for Android devices and it won’t require you to log in using your username and password. As for adding contacts, this app will automatically update your list of contacts. You also have the ability to block anyone from appearing in your list. Other than that, your contacts will also be able to view your latest profile photo and status messages.
It’s just a bit disappointing to know that WhatsApp doesn’t support free calls so if you want to make a call, you have to pay your network’s standard call rates.
Advanced Messaging Tools and Features
What makes this app even more interesting to use is the fact it provides a wide range of advanced tools and features. For example, you can just tap its “Attach Media File” button to add photos, music files, contact info, audio recordings, location maps and pre-recorded videos. That’s not all, the app will also allow you to do broadcasted messages and group chats. You can even customize your wallpaper, save a copy of your conversation history, etc.
My Rating for WhatsApp Free for Android
8 out of 10 stars
I’ve been using WhatsApp for a while now and I could say that when it comes to sending free text messages, it really does the job. I wouldn’t even bother using any other free messaging app for Android because I already have a reliable app that provides a spacious text box for my lengthy messages. However, this app is not meant for those who prefer to talk to their contacts via voice. If you’re looking for a good app for making free calls, I would suggest that you try Viberr or Tango.
